The Permanent Secretary for Early Learning and Basic Education Dr. Julius Jwan has advised teachers and parents against subjecting Learners to holiday tuitions.
Dr. Jwan said that no school should invite learners to school in the name of tuition.
The Principal Secretary made the remarks on Wednesday at Kambi Ya Moto in Rongai Sub-county moments after witnessing the opening of the examination’s containers at the Deputy County Commissioner’s office.
He said government had allocated enough time for learning each term, noting that nobody should conduct holiday tuition.
He added that parents and schools should let learners rest during school holidays before they resume learning towards the end of April, 2022 after the holiday.
He warned that those defying the ban on holiday tuition will be dealt with accordingly.
He also said that they will prosecute parents as well as schools that will engage children in tuition during the holiday.
“Let children enjoy their holiday, let them be with their parents so that when we open Schools, they will be ready to start a very intensive program”, added Dr. Jwan.
