Teacher facing arrest over failure to register candidates in past KCPE

By John Majau

Mwangaza Primary School Head Teacher is facing arrest after his failure to register two candidates in the just concluded KCPE examinations for fears of them dragging the school mean score.

According to Isiolo County Commissioner Herman Shambi, the teacher should be arrested for denying the candidates their rights to participate in the examinations.

“We have not arrested the teacher because we did not want to disrupt the examinations in the school but after the examinations the teacher will be apprehended,” Shambi said.

Elsewhere, a candidate from Attan Primary School in Isiolo North gave birth on Wednesday morning at Isiolo Referral hospital in the last day of the examinations.

Another candidate did her last two days of examinations in hospital after experiencing prolonged labour in school while another one did her exterminations on the hospital with a baby in an incubator after she gave birth six days ago.

There also was a case of a female student who died months to the examination.

According to James Nyaga, the County Education Director, another boy failed to sit for the paper after he left for Baragoi after which he could not be traced.

The total number of the candidates who failed to do the exam will be released by the county education officers at a later date.
