TSC to hire 2,945 teachers in replacement of those who exited through natural attrition

The teachers’ service commission has declared 2,945 vacancies in replacement of teachers exiting service through natural attrition.

In a circular dated January 2022 and titled, Replacement of teachers exiting service in public primary and secondary schools, the teachers who will be recruited will serve on permanent and pensionable terms of service.

The circular also indicates that 2,053 teachers for Primary schools and 892 teachers for secondary schools will be hired.

To qualify for the recruitment, candidates must be Kenyan citizens, holders of P1 certificates in case of primary school and a minimum of diploma for the case of secondary school and must be registered with the teachers’ service commission.

On making application for the vacancies the applicants will need to note that the TSCs recruitment guidelines 2021/2022 will apply and in the case of primary school, successful candidates will be posted to serve in any part of the country where the vacancies exist and not necessarily in the counties where they were recruited.

The document further states that preference will be given to those applicants who have not been employed by the teachers’ service commission and that the recruitment exercise is free of charge with candidates being advised to report any fraudulent activity to any nearest TSC office and/ or police station.
