KNUT faults the Form one selection process

Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) member Sammy Bor has faulted the manner in which the Ministry of Education did the form one selection.

Speaking to the press in Eldoret town recently, Bor who is also the Chepkoilel KNUT secretary said the placement disadvantaged students from day schools.

“I want to urge the Ministry of Education to make serious considerations as they do form one placement. School principals should be the ones making those placements since they know the environment and the capacity of their schools,” Sammy Bor added.

He further called on the Ministry of Education to remain focused so that bursary kitties remain for the needy children alone.

“The government should come up with policies to ensure that only needy and bright students benefit from bursary kitties. The process should also be done in a transparent manner,” said Bor.

He faulted the move by the Ministry of Education of asking principals not to hire buses  to the community arguing that the money raised from hiring buses is used to pay school fees for the less fortunate students.
