Kasikeu ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Julius Tangai has sponsored 160 needy children from his ward who were not able to join secondary schools due to fee challenges.
He observed that education was paramount to all the children and it’s a basic need which every child should have.
He called upon parents with needy children to look for support from leaders, foundations and even the government in terms of bursaries and sponsorships.
The MCA called upon other leaders to help support such children.
Tangai spend about Ksh 400,000 from his own pocket to sponsor the students.
Mary Mwikali Sila from Kathikwani area in the same ward said it was a relief for many parents to receive the bursary since many had lost hope.
