Makueni County KESSHA chairman Julius Mutwii has expressed joy that the county is aiming to return its lost glory.

Speaking at Wote town, Mutwii said the county is engulfed in celebration mood due to impressive grades in KCPE.

He said he is hopefully that even in KCSE the celebration will continue.

“The education sector is happy; we are reclaiming the lost glory. Education is the cash crop of our county and we will not tire. Makueni used to top countrywide and we are back. It’s very possible to be on the top regardless of the aridity of our county,” said Mutwii.

Mutwii observed that there has been a strong partnership with county government and all education stakeholders.

He pointed out that associations and unions in Makueni don’t fight each other something which has resulted to smooth learning.

The KESSHA boss said there has been an annual meeting with the governor to discuss education matters. They also do capacity building and give incentives to schools. Above all hard work and team work has made the county shine.

He expressed his joy that they are rejuvenating the academic duel calling upon all education stakeholders to support education by all means.

However he was dismayed by the minimal performance of the boys countrywide saying it is high time that both gender receive equal treatment.

He said the fact remains that girls have been receiving extra care, attention and everything but boys have been forgotten.
