Kuppet executive secretary Makueni branch Justus Kimeu has encouraged teachers to go for the free Covid-19 vaccine.
Speaking at Wote immediately after he took his jab at Makueni referral hospital, Kimeu said teachers are among the front line workers and they should seize the opportunity by being vaccinated.
The jab has drawn mixed reactions worldwide with some countries halting the exercise. However, the ministry of health has assured citizens it’s safe to take the jab.
Other front line workers are health officers and security personnel among others. The executive secretary pointed out that there is slow uptake of vaccine among teachers and the community in general.
“I have today gone for the vaccine and will still go for the second dose. Kindly avoid all the myths and scary stories being spread about the vaccine. However we are not forcing anyone to go for it, it’s voluntary and for your own benefit,” Kimeu.
