Five teachers from St Mary’s Mabera Girls Secondary School in Kuria West, Migori County have been arrested over alleged KCSE exams irregularities.

Migori County director of education Jacob Onyiego confirmed the arrest saying that it was unfortunate that teachers could indulge in examinations teaching after several precautions from his officer and other government officers.

Suna East DCI officer Richard Cheruyot revealed that his officers arrested the teachers for involving themselves in the ongoing examination irregularities.

“During the impromptu entry to the school the security officers recovered 30 mobile phones from the teachers and students,” he stated.

Cheruyot said that the mobile phones will assist them to retrieve information that will be used as evidence against the suspects in court.
