15,000 learners from Gichugu constituency are set to benefit from the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) bursary kitty.
Speaking after an inspection at Karucho Primary School which was under renovation, MP Githinji Gichimu said that the allocated amount will only pay a part of each learner’s fees to cater for the high number of applicants.
“This bursary will not pay full fees; it will only boost parents and reduce the financial burden on them so that all 15,000 applicants benefit,” he said.
Gichimu noted that the NG-CDF office had renovated 27 of 54 primary schools to motivate learners and give the schools a facelift.
“I will continue with this initiative to motivate learners to produce impressive results,” he added.
The MP said that he will renovate secondary schools next to also give them a facelift to motivate the students as well.
