130 students from Kisumu County are set to benefit from the wings to fly scholarship programme.
Speaking during the scholarship award event, the Chief Executive Officer of equity bank Dr. James Mwangi said the scholarship had benefitted almost 37,000 beneficiaries.
According to Dr.Mwangi, over 700 students have gone to international universities under the wings to fly programme.
Dr. Mwangi noted that the number of applicants for scholarships keeps on increasing yearly and that they had identified 1000 medical students who had graduated from prestigious universities and placed them in the clinic based in Kisumu which they had opened.
The C.E.O, who was accompanied by Kisumu deputy governor Dr Mathew Owili told the students that their destiny was in their hands.
A lot of transparency is required for the identification of bright students from needy families.
