The Young Catholic Society (YCS) members in any Catholic sponsored institution play a great role in sharpening the students morally, socially and academically.

For instance, on July 6, 2024, all Catholic schools from Trans Nzoia and West Pokot counties assembled at the annual Flags Day event at St Joseph’s Boys National School in Kitale.

YCS in schools help in shaping the lives of learners.

Several activities including celebration of Mass, choir presentation and talks from priests, teachers and invited guest speakers took place.

The end results are generally improved discipline, academic performance and positive interactions among learners which creates a sense of brotherhood and sisterhood.

The annual Flags Day YCS meeting had the blessings of Bishop Henry Juma Odonya who is the Catholic Diocese of Kitale Bishop, as well as the sponsor of the Catholic schools in the Diocese.

Students follow proceedings.

The Bishop praised catholic schools for excellent performance in national exams and high standard of discipline.
