Woman Rep lauds KCB for protecting, supporting girl child education

Kisii County Woman Representative Doris Aburi has praised the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) for partnering with her office to protect and support the education of the girl child.

Speaking from her office while flagging off 150 girls to camp at Omobera Primary School for a week’s training on alternative rites of passage other than the outlawed FGM, Aburi urged parents to embrace alternative rites of passage for their girls because it recommendable and more friendly to the girl child who needs to be freed from all social abuses.

She revealed that girls undergo a lot of emotional and social challenges in the pursuit of their education and urged parents to educate their girls to enable them fit in the ever changing world.

Kisii branch KCB Bank Manager James Naganda, who graced the occasion, said females play a very critical role in society.

Stressing that behind any successful man is a woman, Naganda underscored the importance of taking care of girls in order to make them reliable members of the society.

“KCB will partner with other education stakeholders to support the education of the girl child to realize her full potential of growth and development,” he said.

He asked parents to be near their children during this long holiday to guide about the ethical principles of life.
