Wetang`ula receives honorary degree from Kibabii University

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Moses Wetang`ula, has been conferred with the Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters also referred to as Honoris Causa Degree during the 7th Graduation Ceremony of Kibabii University.

Also conferred with the degree at the same ceremony was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stanbic Bank, Joshua Oigara.

The institution Vice Chancellor, Isaac Ipara Odeo, had confirmed this on 20th February 2023 in an announcement made in the local dailies.

The Vice Chancellor termed the award for Wetangula as recognition of his distinguished contribution to the advancement of humanity.

Wetang`ula is one of the sophisticated politicians in the country and have lasted in politics for a span of over 40 years with which he has led in different capacities with different regimes.

The Humane Letters Degree is normally awarded for significant contributions to society. However, ones given the degree, the awardee can also be viewed as a sign someone with compassion, understanding, mercy and tolerance.

Other notable leaders to be awarded with the same degree include the former President of Kenya Mwai Kibaki by Dedan Kimathi University on its 1st Graduation Ceremony.
