  • KUPPET West Pokot officials are calling for stronger collaboration with TSC to improve education standards in the County
  • During a consultative meeting with the new county TSC director, both sides pledged closer engagement to improve service delivery and education standards in West Pokot County.

The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) West Pokot branch has called for sustained collaboration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to address emerging challenges affecting teachers and learners in the county.

Speaking on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, during a consultative meeting with the newly appointed West Pokot County TSC Director, Robert Ruto, at the TSC County Office, union officials emphasized the need for stronger communication and partnership in implementing education policies and programmes.

The meeting brought together KUPPET branch leaders and county education officials to deliberate on key issues affecting the sector, including teachers’ welfare, staffing shortages, promotion gaps, professional development, and working conditions aimed at improving service delivery in schools.

The union officials commended Ruto for his open-door approach and willingness to engage stakeholders, noting that his consultative leadership style and understanding of sector challenges had boosted confidence among teachers in the county.

Ruto reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with teachers, school administrators, and education partners to strengthen service delivery, stressing the importance of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous engagement in addressing sector challenges.

Both parties described the meeting as the beginning of a constructive working relationship focused on improving the quality of education and enhancing teacher welfare across West Pokot County.
