Magemo Girls High School was yesterday feted as the best performing secondary school in Webuye East Sub-county in last year’s KCSE.

At the same time, Lugulu Boarding Primary School was rewarded as the best performing primary school in the constituency.

Making his remarks during the fete, area Member of Parliament Martin Wanyonyi said it was his duty to recognize top performing institutions, teachers and students from last year’s KCPE and KCSE as a way of motivating them to inspire excellence.

The lawmaker noted that his commitment has manifested in the development of state-of-the-art classrooms, dormitories, laboratories, libraries and administrative blocks to enhance school infrastructure.

He further promised to establish more schemes to motivate both teachers and schools in general.

“These initiatives are part of my broader efforts to advance education in Webuye East Constituency,” he said.

The Webuye East Academic Day brought together all education stakeholders, including parents, teachers, learners and administrators from both the national and county governments.
