Unemployed teachers seeking employment with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have been urged to prepare all the required documents for teacher registration ahead of the next recruitment exercise.
Bomet KUPPET Branch Chairman Emmanuel Ngeno said teachers should not wait until the Commission announces vacancies before putting their documents in order, noting that early preparation would help applicants avoid last-minute challenges.
Ngeno said prospective applicants should ensure they have their National Identity Card, passport-size photograph, KRA PIN certificate, Certificate of Good Conduct, KCPE and KCSE certificates, degree certificate and academic transcripts. He also advised applicants to prepare the GP69 medical examination form and an affidavit where names appearing on academic and identification documents do not tally. Other details required during the registration process include an active email address and postal address.

Ngeno said teachers should also familiarise themselves with the TSC registration process and ensure their personal information is accurate and consistent across all documents. He urged unemployed teachers to obtain their TSC numbers early instead of waiting for a recruitment advertisement, since teacher registration is a requirement for those seeking employment with the Commission.
The TSC registration process attracts a non-refundable fee of Sh1,050, while applications for advertised recruitment vacancies are made through the Commission’s official online platform.
