The ultra-modern library at Bomet University College, now in its final construction stages, is set to enhance teaching, learning and research for students and staff once officially opened

Bomet University College is on the brink of a major academic transformation as the construction of its ultra-modern library enters the final stages.

The landmark facility, now almost complete, is expected to significantly enhance teaching, learning and research once it is officially opened to students and staff.

Designed to serve thousands of learners, the new library underscores the government’s deliberate investment in strengthening learning environments within higher education institutions.

The facility will expand access to knowledge resources while providing a quiet, well-equipped and student-friendly space that supports academic excellence.

Upon completion, the library will feature modern reading and discussion areas, advanced digital research infrastructure and an expanded collection of academic materials spanning a wide range of disciplines.

These improvements are expected to greatly boost research output and innovation, particularly in science, technology, philosophy and environmental studies—key focus areas for the institution.

University leadership views the project as a strategic investment that elevates the overall quality of education at Bomet University College.

By strengthening research capacity and providing modern learning tools, the facility positions the institution to compete favorably at both national and global levels.

The library project is part of a broader infrastructure development programme at the university.

Ongoing works include the construction of a perimeter wall to enhance security, alongside a modern social hall and new student hostels aimed at improving campus life and welfare.

Both the national and county governments have reiterated their commitment to delivering transformative infrastructure that supports teaching, research, innovation and community service.

The university has expressed deep appreciation to the government under President William Samoei Ruto for its continued support in advancing the growth of Bomet University College and driving development in the wider region.

As these projects near completion, Bomet University College is steadily emerging as a modern, vibrant and competitive centre of higher learning in Kenya.
