The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with CALL Africa to implement a three-year initiative aimed at strengthening vocational training and expanding inclusive access to technical education in Kenya.
The project, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, seeks to enhance skills development and create more opportunities for youth and vulnerable groups across the country.
The agreement was signed at TVETA’s offices by Acting Director General Timothy Nyongesa Katiambo and CALL Africa Country Representative Ermes Amato.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Katiambo reaffirmed TVETA’s commitment to supporting the project within the Authority’s regulatory framework.

“TVETA will provide the necessary support and guidance in the planning and implementation of activities under this project, which is geared towards strengthening vocational training in the country,” he said.
The initiative will be implemented in Kiambu County, Kajiado County, and Machakos County. Key interventions will include capacity building for trainers and officials in Vocational Training Centres to improve career guidance services.
The programme will also support the establishment of six innovation hubs in public VTCs and launch a business support initiative designed to help persons with disabilities and individuals facing different forms of vulnerability start their own enterprises.
The partnership is expected to strengthen vocational training systems while promoting inclusive economic participation among marginalized groups in Kenya.
