The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued a warning to all heads of institutions, Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs), TSC Sub-County Directors, and TSC County Directors that the Teachers’ Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) schedule for the first term of 2024 will conclude by midnight on Friday, November 11, this week.
In a communique from the head of TPAD at the Commission’s headquarters, all the actors are reminded to expedite the appraisal process and ensure a 100 per cent compliance rate.
Previously, there have been rampant cases where the compliance rate has dropped to below 80 per cent.

The main reason for the drop has largely been attributed to technophobia amongst the teachers and unreliable networks in far-flung areas of the country.
Teachers from low network coverage areas have regularly requested that the Commission consider allowing them to revert to manual appraisal and issues the Commission has strongly opposed.
Kenyan teachers are appraised via TPAD, an online management system for teacher appraisal introduced in 2016 through funding by the World Bank in conjunction with the Kenya Primary Education Development Project (Priede).
TPAD is of utmost significance to teachers and learners as it leads to enhanced curriculum implementation.
