Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has denounced the recent list of promoted teachers by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) from Kisii County.

Branch Executive Secretary Joseph Abincha said the list that was sent to the county is composed of foreigners instead of teachers from the region.

Abincha who addressed teachers and students at Cardinal Otunga Mosocho on March 7 during the launch of County Term One Secondary Schools sports activities accused the TSC of nepotism and dictatorship.

“They have graduated from intimidating and exploiting teachers and now want to con us but as a union we shall not sit back and watch,” he said.

The executive secretary said that they have written a protest letter to the TSC over the alleged discrimination and asked teachers to be on the watch and stand to demand their professional rights.

He said that majority of those who were promoted are those who have been in the field for only seven years while there have been teachers who have been in class for 18 years but have not been promoted.
