- New TSC Commissioner Wilson Sossion has pledged to address longstanding challenges affecting teachers within the Commission.
- He made the commitment during a thanksgiving ceremony held for KNUT official Elly Korinko in Kajiado.
- The gathering brought together teachers, union leaders, clergy and government officials from the region.
TSC Commissioner Wilson Sossion on Saturday joined residents, teachers, leaders and clergy at a colourful thanksgiving ceremony held in honour of KNUT official Elly Korinko.
The function was held at Olosho Loo Sidan in Mashuuru, Kajiado County, on September 19, 2026.
Korinko, a long-serving KNUT official from the Maa community, is the current Branch Executive Secretary for the Olkejuado KNUT Branch and has maintained a close and cordial relationship with Sossion over the years.
The regional KNUT Executive Secretary position is said to be reserved for minority groups within the union.
The ceremony was attended by top KNUT officials led by First Vice National Chairman Joseph Malel Langat, representing Secretary General Collins Oyuu and National Chairman Patrick Karinga Munuhe.
Also present were government and civic leaders, including Principal Secretary Judith Pareno, KUPPET officials, clergy and other leaders.
Sossion, who was recently sworn in as a TSC commissioner, used the occasion to meet teachers and teachers’ leaders, who welcomed him to his new role at the Commission.
Sossion promises action on teacher challenges
In response to concerns raised by teachers, Sossion assured them that he would do everything possible within his mandate to address challenges affecting them.
“Services in the TSC are free, and your employer represents integrity,” said the commissioner, promising that no teacher should have to pay for employment, transfer or promotion.
He also pledged to work towards ensuring that teachers approaching retirement receive their pension benefits promptly.

Sossion wished Korinko success in his leadership role, describing him as an experienced leader and scholar in matters of leadership.
