Top 2022 KCPE candidates garner 431 marks

While announcing the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results on Wednesday, December 21, Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu did not name the top candidates as the norm.

However, Education News has learned that Otieno Lewis Omondi Glen and Fwaro Makokha Robinson are the top students in the 2022 KCPE tests.

Both candidates garnered 431 out of a possible 500 marks.

Machogu said this was an improvement from the 2021 exam where the best candidate got 428 marks.

Glen from St. Peter’s Mumias Boys Primary School and Robinson from Christ the King Academy in Bungoma outdid the other 1,244,188 candidates who took the exam.

Christ The King Primary’ Makokha Robinson was a hardworking student and always topped internal as well as external exams according to his teachers.

According to the Ministry, 9,443 candidates scored between the mark range of 400 and 500.

307,756 pupils scored between 200 and 299 marks and 619,593 candidates scoring between 100 and 199 marks.

724 candidates scored between 1 and 99 marks.
