Teachers have been reminded to be at the forefront of shaping major decisions that drive societal progress.
Nairobi-based philanthropist Kevin Arwasa said teachers are endowed with exceptional knowledge of educating and informing communities and asked them to stand and take their rightful place in assisting their communities to realise their God-given rights to live with freedom and self-expression.
“When you have the right knowledge, you live peacefully and fit anywhere in this world,” he said.

Arwasa was speaking to teachers from Kitutu Chache South Constituency, who paid him a courtesy call on Tuesday at his residence in the area.
He asked teachers to encourage parents to invest in quality education as the best way to defeat poverty and help transition to happy, wealthy families.
He expressed his desire to stand for the Kisii County Gubernatorial seat in the 2027 National elections. He asked some teachers to aspire to seek elective political posts in this country.
He said that history has witnessed people who became successful, such as nationalists like former President of Tanzania, Julius Nyerere, Daniel Moi of Kenya, and Kennedy Kaunda of Zambia.
He urged teachers to live exemplary lives to inspire confidence in pupils and the educators of their children.
