Taita Taveta Kuppet Executive Secretary Shadrack Mutungi retained his after defeating rival David Mombo by 464 to 250 votes while the position of Assistant Executive Secretary went to Ismaili Omoke.
Mutungi said the KUPPET leadership will ensure that the whole of Taita Taveta County is gazetted as a hardship area .
He thanked teachers for electing him to serve and fight for their rights.
Other officials elected during the elections were as follows:
Mr. Morekwa Nyakundi, County KUPPET chairman, David Kosgey Vice Chairman, Peter Ongweso Treasurer, Selestine Wakio Assistant Treasurer and Edwin Nyambuto Organising Secretary.
Others are Emmanuel Chirishwa Secretary Secondary, Halma Abdalla Secretary Gender and Gitonga Gachago Secretary Tertiary.
