Students urged to embrace other avenues for conflict resolution; rather than criminality

Following the recent cases of university students killing each other, Makueni Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili has called upon students to avoid criminality and get other means of solving problems.

Speaking in AIC Wote, Mulili referred to last week’s incident of Multi Media University where a student allegedly murdered his girlfriend, noting that violence doesn’t solve anything.

“Kindly if the relationship does not work, just part. There is life beyond relationship. Stop taking law in your hands. I comment the police for doing their work,” Mulili said.

The deputy governor  also called upon parents to take care of their children over the holiday; cautioning them of a heavy downpour that causes rivers to swell and water stagnation.

“Kindly make sure you know where your children are and that they don’t play with any water mass. We don’t want to lose lives,” she added.

He encouraged parents to make sure children are engaged at home to avoid being idle and engaging in vices

“Again I want to remind parents that this is not the time all attention is directed to girl child, even boy child should be protected,” she added.

She called upon owners of open water like ponds and dams to make sure they are protected all the time to avoid loss of lives in both human and animals,
