Students across the country are set to take centre stage in showcasing how technology is reshaping the banking landscape, under the sub-theme: “Leveraging Technology to Make Banking a Lifestyle — From a Place You Go to Something You Do.”

The presentations, supported by Equity, will explore how digital banking has become seamlessly woven into daily routines. From paying school fees with a few taps on a mobile device to enabling entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and participate in cross-border trade, learners will demonstrate how financial services are no longer confined to physical banking halls.

The sponsored genres will place emphasis on the growing role of technology in driving financial inclusion. Students are expected to highlight how innovations in digital finance are empowering individuals, schools, and enterprises by making transactions faster, more accessible, and more efficient.

This shift reflects a broader transformation in the financial sector, where banking services are increasingly integrated into everyday activities.

Organisers note that the theme aims to deepen understanding among young people about the evolving nature of banking, encouraging them to appreciate and creatively express how technology continues to bridge gaps in access to financial services across the country.

The festival is currently underway at the regional level in various parts of Kenya, drawing participation from schools eager to present their interpretations of the theme. The competition will culminate in a national event scheduled to take place in Nyeri this April, where top performers from each region will converge for the final showcase.

As the country continues to embrace digital transformation, the students’ presentations are expected to offer fresh perspectives on the future of banking—one where financial services are not just destinations, but integral, everyday tools that support growth and opportunity.
