Makueni County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo has warned students against carrying out strikes, arguing that doing so destroys a lot of costly property.

Speaking during the launch of CBC classes in Nthia and Kiambani Day Mixed Secondary Schools, Kitiyo warned the students that if any of their fingerprints are found in connection with crime, their records will be permanently destroyed.

“Instead of striking, you need to focus on your studies so as to succeed in life,” he advised the students.

Makindu sub county DCC Richard Ogwoka warned men against impregnating school girls.

He revealed that men caught going against the directive will face the law without compromise.

Ogwoka cautioned students against using drugs and urged them to instead focus on their education,

Abdi Aziz Noor, Makindu sub county director of education, said they are working on ensuring the 100 per cent transition policy is successful.

He added that they are about to implement school feeding programmes in Grades 1 -3 in schools across the sub county.

Kiambani Day Mixed Secondary School Principal Gilbert Kimani noted the three year old school is growing fast with a student population of 465.

He decried the shortage of teachers in the school adding that there are only 5 teachers employed by TSC and 9 employed by the BOM.

He thanked the government for the disbursing capitation   to the school for development projects but expressed concern that they have no laboratories, enough classes and toilets.
