A secondary school student gave birth and dumped her new born baby in a pit latrine in Bomet County.
The incident which paralyzed the school programs at Koiyet Secondary School on Monday morning after a form student gave birth in the toilet and concealed the infant in the pit latrine before joining other students in class.
The incident prompted the school principal to mobilize the staff and members of the public who assisted in retrieving the infant and were both rushed to Sigor sub county hospital and later referred to Longisa County Hospital.

Chepalungu sub-county police boss Phanton Analo said the incident was reported by the school principal that the 19-year-old was seen bleeding excessively while seated in class, prompting other students to call for help. On further search, it was discovered that she gave birth and concealed the infant before joining other students in class.
The police boss asserted that they have launched investigation into the matter as the school and community are assessing the necessary support for the student and her child.
