St. Paul’s Lugari Boys Senior School has ushered in a new era of leadership following the official appointment and assumption of office of Kennedy Akhaenda as the institution’s new Principal.

Akhaenda officially took over the leadership of the school on Wednesday, July 1, after receiving the instruments of authority from the outgoing Principal, Pitia Rombosia, during a formal handover ceremony attended by members of the Board of Management and the school’s administration.

His appointment marks a return to familiar ground, having served the school for nearly two decades in various capacities.

During his previous stint, he worked as an Agriculture and Geography teacher, Boarding Master, Deputy Principal and also served as Acting Principal, giving him an in-depth understanding of the institution’s operations and traditions.

Education stakeholders and the school’s alumni have welcomed the appointment, expressing confidence that his wealth of experience and institutional knowledge will strengthen leadership and accelerate the school’s academic and co-curricular growth.

The alumni also pledged continued collaboration with the new administration, citing the successful implementation of projects such as the Code for Lugari Initiative as evidence of the impact that strong partnerships can have on improving learning outcomes and school development.

Akhaenda assumes office at a time when St. Paul’s Lugari Boys is working to enhance its academic performance while reclaiming its competitive edge in sports, drama and other co-curricular activities.

School leaders expressed optimism that his experience and leadership will inspire both students and staff as the institution pursues excellence and cements its position among the leading secondary schools in the region.
