St. Monica Catholic Church Kitengela has officially launched the 3rd Edition of the Kitengela Community Run 2026, an annual initiative designed to promote peace, unity, and reconciliation while raising funds to support vulnerable and orphaned students.
The event which is scheduled for 22nd August 2026, will take place at Dr. Likimani Primary School in Kitengela.
According to church leadership, led by Priest in Charge Fr. Dr. Rev. Godfrey Kanenje, the initiative is not only a sporting event but also a platform for transforming lives through education.
Organizers say the run has steadily grown into a major community gathering, attracting residents, institutions, and partners committed to social cohesion and educational empowerment, saying that the funds raised, will go toward providing scholarships for disadvantaged learners, supporting their education from secondary school through to university level.
They emphasized that the community run has become a symbol of togetherness in the region, bringing people from different backgrounds together in support of a shared cause. They called on individuals, businesses, and organizations to take part in the 2026 edition through registration, participation, and sponsorship.

The event is expected to attract hundreds of participants from Kitengela and surrounding areas within Kajiado County, reinforcing efforts to strengthen community bonds while addressing educational inequality.
Among the supporters, Co-operative Bank of Kenya has contributed toward the initiative, presenting a dummy cheque in support of the program.
