St. Anne Nzoia Girls holds party for retiring Principal

St. Anne Nzoia Girls High School fraternity recently hosted a retirement party at a Kakamega hotel for Madam Okuta who retired as Principal in September this year.

Speaking at the event, Okuta encouraged budding teachers to take the teaching seriously as it is a noble and rewarding profession.

She expressed pride for improving the Nzoia Girls’ KCSE mean from 4.2 to 7.1and influencing the lives of the girls under her by shaping and moulding their characters.

Okuta added that since she was posted there in 2017, she has always prioritized development of infrastructure to ensure a conducive learning and teaching environment.

She stated that her teaching career began at Mumias Muslim Secondary School in 1987 as a Mathematics teacher after graduating from Kenya Science with a Diploma in Teaching.

Okuta said that she later joined various stations where she held various leadership position as Department Head and Senior Master until 2012 when she joined St. Anne Musoli Girls as Deputy Principal.

She served until 2017 when she was promoted to head Nzoia Girls.

Okuta added that she also enrolled for a Degree course at MMUST before enrolling for a Masters Degree in the same University where she specialized in Guidance and Counseling.

The retiring Principal hails from Matungu sub-county, Kakamega County where she is married to Mr. Henry Okuta and blessed with five children.
