Kathonzweni sub-county is yet to come to terms with the death of a six year old boy who lost his life in the morning accident which occurred in Kiangini area.
It is reported that the boy was with his colleagues heading to school in a probox when the accident occurred along Wote-Makindu road.
The boy died on the spot as others sustained serious injuries.
According to a police report, the pupils from Kiangini Primary School were being taken to school by a private Toyota Wish vehicle very early in the morning.
The accident is alleged to have been caused by a tire burst which left the vehicle to overturn several times.
Witnesses say that about 10 pupils, a teacher and the driver were critically injured.
Those injured were rushed to Makueni Referral Hospital where the doctor in charge, Joseph Masila, said they are attending to the victims but some of them are stable.
The deceased was taken to the morgue of the same facility awaiting postmortem as investigations have been launched.
