Senator urges parents, teachers to work together to support children’s education

Nominated Senator Essy Okenyuri, has told parents to support their children’s education by assisting teachers to create a conducive learning environment for them.

Speaking at Magenge SDA Secondary School in Bomachoge Borabu Constituency during their thanks giving ceremony, Okenyuri said that a school cannot succeed without joint effort of teachers, parents and other education stakeholders.

“The success of any institution depends on teamwork which is the fuel of success.” She said.

During the occasion that was characterized by her brand of dressing in school uniform of any school she visits, she donated assorted books worth Kshs 300,000 to the institution.

She said that the books were from her Essy Nyaituga Foundation that aims to motivate school girls and boys to embrace reading culture as the cornerstone of success in education.

“My main goal of donating these books is to encourage and empower our children to grow with the culture of loving education.” She said.

The parents of the school thanked the senator and promised to continue supporting the principal to boost the school that has overcome all odds in the rural setting to emerge victorious in the KCSE examinations in the last three consecutive years.
