Senator calls for castration of men who rape, defile minors

A politician now wants any suspect found guilty of defiling or raping children or women to be castrated in order to completely eradicate the vice in Kenya.
Isiolo County Senator Fatuma Dullo (pictured) raised the red flag over the rising cases of defilement and rape against school going children and called for the castration of the culprits in a bid to end the practice in the country.
She said castration of men found guilty of committing such a heinous crime against innocent and helpless children is the best way of bringing to an end the vice which has become rampant in Kenya and especially in some learning institutions.
Speaking at Isiolo stadium during the Isiolo County education forum day, the senator said the move will ensure that the suspects are incapable of repeating a similar offense in the future noting that severe punishment will also deter other men from engaging in such a crime.
“Any man found guilty of defiling our girls should be castrated. It’s unfortunate that as we speak here a seven and 20 years old girls are recovering in hospitals following separate rape ordeals. I will do everything possible including consulting FIDA to ensure that culprits are brought to book and the victims get justice. Defilement and rape against school going children and women respectively is on the rise and castration is the best way of ending the vice,” said the Isiolo County Senator.
