Education Quality Assurance and Standards (QASO) officer for West Pokot Sub-county Philemon Rop has asked schools to beautify their compounds by planting trees and flowers.
Rop while visiting Tampalal Primary School emphasized the need for schools to beautify their compounds by planting good vegetations like flowers around the building structures and also along the school gate.

Rop said that flowers and other good vegetations beautify the school environment apart from conserving soil erosion.
Rop also added that some plants are also a good source of learning for example flowers can be used as teaching aids for Science and Technology subjects.
He also motivated teachers to implement the Competence Based Curriculum as it is the best system in place.
As he is still new, he was on a familiarization tour of West Pokot sub county schools.
