School in Kisii mourns death of Principal killed in road accident

Kisii County teaching fraternity is mourning the death of Rianyabaro Centre of Excellence Secondary School Principal Shem Abere.

According to Kisii County KUPPET Executive Secretary Joseph Abincha, the deceased was involved in tragic road accident near Gesonso police station along the busy Kisii-Suneka road yesterday night.

According to reports, he was travelling from Moi Gesusu High School after attending the ongoing Primary and Junior Secondary School music festival when his vehicles lost control and slammed head on into a truck then rolled several times into a ditch. The principal died on the spot.

Eye witness told Education News that other pedestrians may have lost their lives but police sources were reluctant to confirm the information until they counter checked with the next of kin of those involved.

Abincha said the union, teaching fraternity and whole of institution’s community are saddened to learn about the sudden demise of the Principal.

Rianyabaro Secondary is located in Kisii South Sub- county.
