School heads in Migori praise President Ruto for launching tarmacking of new road

Nyatike Subcounty KESSHA Chairman Robert Magembe ( front left) meets President Ruto and his entourage when he visited Senye Mixed Secondary School.
Nyatike Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association(KESSHA) has praised and thanked President William Ruto for his recent visit to the region to revive stalled development and start other new ones.
Led by their Chairman, Robert Magembe, the Principal of Senye Mixed Secondary School, they singled out the commissioning of the Migori—Muhuru Bay road to bitumen standards to ease communication to a local school.
“Completing this road will provide easy access for teachers and students to school and relieve them from wallowing in mud,” he said.
The educators said the president’s tour, which was packed with all the area’s leaders, led by Migori County Governor Dr Ochillo Ayacko and Nyatike Constituency MP Tom Odege, among others, was a great connector between educators and political leaders who are policymakers of the learning institutions.

“The visit provided a good venting atmosphere, as teachers met the president one-on-one in a region that has been traditionally gripped by the opposition political environment,” said Peter Odhiambo.
The teachers castigated the ugly incident in which the president was pelted with a shoe at Kehancha town, saying it was unethical. They thanked the presidential guards for quickly arresting the suspect to face the law.

The teachers and other residents asked the President to treat the incident as an isolated case and continue discharging his development duties as the head of the state without holding any grudges.
During his three-day visit, the president presided over issuing school buses to St Pius Uriri Secondary School in Awendo Constituency and Gokeharaka Secondary School in Ntimaru Subcounty of Kuria West Constituency.
In Nyatike Constituency, President Ruto launched the construction of Muhuru Bay Pier and inspected Muhuru Bay Modern market before unveiling the contractor for Muhuru—Masara—Muhuru Bay.
At Senye Secondary playground, where the President addressed the main crowd, he promised to provide the institutions with a school bus that would ease the transportation of teachers and students to accomplish study tours and related academic ventures, games, and sports.
“We shall assist this school with a good bus to boost their academic activities, and we ask the board management and the principal to follow up to claim the machine for these young Kenyans,” said the President.
In response to the government’s ongoing antagonistic proposal to scrap the teachers’ hardship allowances, the president did not comment much but said the government has good intentions for teachers.
He reiterated his Kenya Kwanza government’s commitment to providing adequate services in the provision of quality education to the Kenyan child, citing the ongoing recruitment of 2000 teachers in addition to the previous ones. He anticipated that the exercise would be conducted fairly and equitably.
