Ruto promises 100 percent scholarship for varsity students

President William Ruto has announced the government’s intention to provide 100 percent education scholarships for students pursuing higher learning.

He was peaking in Vihiga County on Saturday where he commissioned Last Mile Water Supply Project in Sabatia Constituency Musalia Mudavadi’s home turf.

The Head of State noted that his administration had reached a mutual agreement with various education stakeholders to ensure that students pursuing higher learning get full scholarships.

He stated that full scholarships will be granted to students whose parents fall in the low-income bracket whereas students whose parents are in the high-income bracket will get 20-30 percent scholarships.

“Your children in technical training college and university, have had problems in their studies because Universities have debts.” He said

The President also assured residents that the government was taking key measures to upgrade the education sector and ensure that every child is educated. Ruto stated that the government had allocated billions in the education sector so as to facilitate conducive learning for all learners.

“We are going to make sure that every child who goes to school has an opportunity to learn,” he stated.
