Riokindo Boys High School has been indefinitely closed following a fire incident that occurred last evening, which resulted in the destruction of three dormitories.
According to the School Principal Gerald Orina, the fire erupted while students were in their evening study sessions, causing an estimated loss of Sh.4 million in property.
“Fortunately, no students were injured, as they were all in their classrooms,” he expressed.

Orina further explained that the fire occurred after a power blackout, and when power was restored, the incident occurred.
“The school’s closure is necessary to provide accommodation for the form four students, who are preparing for their National exams,” he explained.
The Principal noted the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined as they await for the investigation report from the authorities.
