More than 500 learners joining Form One in Kilifi County have been sponsored by a merger of well-wishers including Mombasa Cement, New Life Ministries Pastor Ezekiel Odero, Equity Bank`s Wings To Fly, Kenya Commercial Bank and Cooperative Bank.
While issuing Mombasa Cement scholarships to four students from Bandacho Primary school, the County Governor Gideon Mung’aro noted that at least 700 learners with impressive 2022 KCPE results were stuck at home due to lack of school fees.
He acknowledged Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New Life Ministries who donated money estimated to support 103 students.
Mombasa Cement General Manager Imtiaz Sayan said that they not only sponsor the students but also aid their families to transform them wholly.
He urged parents unable to raise fees for their children to come out and ask for help instead of letting their children stay at home.
