Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has said the iconic Ofafa Memorial Hall in Kisumu will now be transformed into a full-fledged cultural centre.
Odinga said other counties in Nyanza region will have similar facilities.
Speaking during the coronation of the Luo Council of Elders Chairman Ker Odungi Randa at the facility, Odinga said it has been abandoned for a long time.

Odinga decried the hall being converted into a chang’aa den, bhang and other illicit activities.
Odinga narrated how he and his late father traversed the entire East African region soliciting funds for the facility.
He said they went to the whole of Nyanza region, Tanzania and Uganda and convinced the Luo living there to contribute.
