PS Isaboke urges Daystar alumni to champion innovation and leadership

Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications Stephen Isaboke has called on Daystar alumni to champion innovation and leadership.

The PS who was speaking during the Daystar University Alumni Association Professional and Business Symposium 2025 recognized the contributions of the Daystar alumni in the country and abroad.

He applauded the alumni symposium for addressing its 2025 theme: “Leading in the Era of Disruption”, noting that this period of fast-changing digital world people must be adaptable, innovative, and courageous to navigate emerging challenges and opportunities.

The PS pointed out that the government is expanding its digital infrastructure through the rollout of digital hubs across all 47 counties which provide skills training, job opportunities, and services to youth at the grassroots level across the country.

Isaboke said initiatives like Studio Mashinani, being implemented by the State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications through Kenya Broadcasting Corporation brings content creation closer to local communities and amplifies Kenyan voices nationally and globally, nurturing talents.

The government has also come up with key policy frameworks, the National Artificial Intelligence Policy, which promotes ethical AI use, and the National Communication Policy, designed to improve government communication and public engagement.

The symposium which provided a vital platform for networking, exchanging ideas, and fostering collaboration was attended by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Laban Ayiro, Daystar University, Co-Founder Dr. Donald K. Smith, Alumni Association Chairman Dr. Antony Mburu, faculty members, Public Communication Officers within Ministries, industry leaders, and professionals from various sectors.
