Professor Paul Shiundu has taken over as the acting Vice Chancellor (VC) of Technical University of Kenya (TUK) following the retirement of Prof Francis Aduol whose second term ended on May 15, 2023.
Prof Shiundu’s appointment became effective on May 16, 2023. He previously served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Students Affairs under Prof Aduol.
The change of guard was revealed through a memo from the university signed by the Chairman of the University Council Dr Idle Farah.
“I wish to notify the entire University staff and student fraternity that as from May 15, 2023, Prof. Aduol will be serving his final day in office after serving the then Kenya Polytechnic, Kenya Polytechnic University College, and the current Technical University of Kenya for a total of over 16 years,” the memo read in part.
Dr Farah praised Professor Aduol for his achievements and efforts in ensuring the university is recognized as a reputable institution.
Prof Aduol’s area of specialty is survey, in which he holds a bachelors and masters degree from the University of Nairobi.
