Daystar University said Saturday March 9 that it has reappointed Prof Laban Ayiro to another five-year term as Vice Chancellor of the institution.
Chairman of Daystar University Council in a statement praised Prof Ayiro for a sterling performance in driving the university to great heights of growth through sound strategies.
In a letter dated 8th March 2024, the chairman of Daystar University Council expressed the council’s confidence in the leadership of Prof. Ayiro, citing the exponential growth the university has experienced over the last five years.
“Your appointment as the Vice Chancellor is an answered prayer and it is our prayer that you will see this appointment as God’s call to you to serve Him at Daystar University,” the letter says in part.
Prof Ayiro’s reappointment extends his chancellorship through July 2027. Since taking over as the Vice Chancellor of Daystar University on March 1, 2019, the university has experienced phenomenal growth in student enrollment, infrastructure development, academic programmes, staff development, and environmental sustainability.
Prof Ayiro posted on Facebook that he is grateful for another opportunity to continue serving the institution.
“I am deeply grateful to the Board of Trustees and the University Council for re-appointing me as the Vice-Chancellor of Daystar University for another period of 5 years w.e.f. 1st March 2024. It’s a heavy responsibility, which again is far beyond my talents, and I beseech God to go before me in shepherding Daystar University as part of His Kingdom. I call upon the students, faculty, staff, parents, and the wider global community of Kenya and the world to give me the impetus needed to make our university flourish into the future,” the post reads in part.
“I purpose to lead Daystar through having a sharp focus on the following worldly constructs; namely 𝙒𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧, 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙒𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙨 of the entire community of Daystar. Responding to these 3 constructs will see to the development of state of the art facilities, acquisition of meaningful and quality learning, having impactful and enviable graduates and products and an endearing fortitude for the love of God and fellow human beings.”
