He said one of the private developers started construction while the school was on holiday.
According to the Vice Chancellor of Garissa University Prof Ahmed Warfa, who was the school head in the 1990s, the fake title deeds were being use by alleged grabbers.
Following the alarm raised by the principal, hundreds of students took to the streets to protest over the land grab.
Carrying placards some that read ‘Our land our school the protestors who include former students marched around the alleged grabbed section.
Speaking to the press, the students’ council chairman Ahmed Mohamed said it was a sin for private developers to target land belonging to schools.
‘’We will fight whoever is behind the land grab to the end regardless of his or her position in society,’’ said Mohamed.
Abdikhani Ibrahim, a parent loudly wondered how such a project can go on without the express approval of the directorate of planning.
On visiting the site Education News found construction workers putting up a structure along a road reserve which next to the school compound.
