Migori County school principals have sought clarity from Education CS Ezekiel Machogu regarding KCPE candidates with affected results.

The concern arises after 1,043 candidates experienced discrepancies in their grades during this year’s results release.

The principal requested guidance on how to proceed with form one placement for these affected candidates.

Machogu addressed the National Assembly, revealing that the Ministry of ICT has been engaged for a forensic audit on the results.

Of the 1,043 reported complaints, 871 have been resolved.

While defending the authenticity of results on the KNEC portal, Machogu attributed discrepancies to results transmitted via SMS.

The CS announced plans to discontinue the SMS method of result transmission, emphasizing collaboration with the Ministry of ICT to establish a free-access website for examination results.

He affirmed the ministry’s competence and assured parents of a seamless 100 percent transition of their children to form one in the upcoming year.
