Pensioners who missed their July 2025 payment are being advised to update their registration details urgently before August 15, 2025, to avoid suspension of their benefits.
According to a public notice issued by Invest & Grow Sacco (IG Sacco), some pensioners may have missed the self-registration process, which is necessary to continue receiving monthly payments. Affected members have been urged to visit the Pensions Department at any Huduma Centre to verify and update their details.
The notice further warns that pensions will remain suspended if personal details are not updated by the deadline.
This is part of ongoing efforts by pension administrators to streamline records, reduce fraud, and ensure the timely disbursement of funds.
In Kenya, pension reforms have been underway to enhance the efficiency of managing retirees’ benefits.

The government, through the National Treasury and the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA), has been advocating for the adoption of digital systems to replace outdated manual processes.
Huduma Centres now serve as one-stop shops for retirees to access services such as registration, verification, and complaint resolution.
If pensioners fail to meet the August 15 deadline, their payments will remain frozen until they comply with the update requirement. This has prompted both Sacco officials and government agencies to intensify awareness campaigns through social media, local radio stations, and public barazas.
Kenya’s pension system serves over 300,000 retirees from both the public and private sectors. Delays in payment and fraudulent claims have been significant challenges in the past.
The shift toward digital verification aims to protect pension funds, improve payment timelines, and reduce administrative costs. Pensioners are therefore encouraged to treat the update exercise as a priority to secure their livelihoods.
