Parents urged to take full responsibility for kids this season

Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka during the administration

Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka has issued a stern call to parents in the county, urging them to assume full responsibility for their children’s activities during the festive season.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bungoma County Government’s administration office block in Milimani area, Bungoma township ward, Governor Lusaka emphasized the importance of instilling discipline in children amid the holiday festivities.

He stressed that, beyond personal celebrations, parents should use this time to guide and shape their children’s behavior positively.

Additionally, the governor pledged his administration’s commitment to enhancing education standards in the region.

He further outlined ongoing efforts, such as providing timely scholarships for academically gifted yet financially disadvantaged students and distributing ward-based bursaries across the county’s 45 wards.

However, acknowledging the limitations of bursary funds, Governor Lusaka urged parents to contribute by ensuring the prompt payment of school fees.

This collective effort, he noted, is crucial to guaranteeing that every child has access to quality education in Bungoma County.
