Parents cautioned against buying ‘leaked’ KCSE, KPSEA exams

Ahmed Omar addresses the press. Parents in Bomet have been warned against buying fake examination papers.

Parents in Bomet have been warned against buying fake Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam papers.

County Commissioner Ahmed Omar noted that conmen purporting to have exam leakages are targeting parents and candidates in Grade 6 and those in Form 4.

Speaking in his office, Omar warned fake exam peddlers in the area of severe repercussions if caught plying the illegal trade.

“Parents and students should be on the watch out for fake papers. The safety and security of national exams is already beefed up and nobody should be duped into believing that they have leaked,” he said.

Omar advised candidates to be cautious of such traders, stating that elaborate safety measures have been put to prevent exam leakage.

He said that they are prepared and on standby in case of any logistical challenge, adding that stakeholders are working in collaboration to ensure the exams run as planned.

“We have set aside high-powered vehicles to transport examination papers in case of any challenge. We are applying a multi-agency approach to ensure the exams are running smoothly. Candidates and other stakeholders should rest assured that everything is well,” added Omar.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up along the Trans Mara South and Trans Mara West border following the resurgence of cattle theft.

Candidates in the area have been assured of their security, with church leaders in the area urging locals to shun acts that could trigger conflicts and embrace peaceful coexistence.
