A Form two student from Ruambwa Sub location in Bunyala North Ward in Budalangi Constituency has been threatening to end her life over lack of remedial and borehole cash demanded by her school.

Speaking to Education News at her Munginia village home today, the girl’s mother, a widowed mother of seven said being unemployed, she could not manage to raise money to pay her daughter’s remedial lessons.

The parent who had sought anonymity further said though her daughter who is learning at Moiben Girls Secondary School in Eldoret is sponsored by a well-wisher who is paying school fees only, remedial money rested squarely on her shoulder.

She further said the school management board had asked each student to pay KSh4,000 for the construction of a borehole at the institution when schools reopen for second term.

“My daughter owes the school KSh6,000 for remedial and sh4,000 for the borehole all totaling to KSh10,000. All this money is supposed to be paid when students resume learning and I am unable to raise this,” said the parent.
